Frank will no longer represent Shokkwear in his upcoming fights. We want to wish him the best of luck in his career.
Winter Salsa Carnival Final Round
After 2 gruelling rounds the Finals were finally here. However bad news would strike as Gil injured his back severely just one week before the competition. He had to miss 5 days of training because he could barely walk without any pain. After much therapy and rest, Gil was able to get back to the studio and do one final push before the finals. Michelle and Gil spent hours trying to get back to form. It was a very tight and tough competition. All the competitors did an amazing job and the scores were separated only by a few points. Michelle and Gil came out on top with 1st prize and an all expense paid trip to Mexico. Congratulations MnG.

Winter Salsa Carnival Semi Final Round
Just a week after Calgary, the Winter Salsa Carnival Semi Final Round had arrived. Michelle and Gil performed once again and came in 1st place. They now move on to the Final Round on March 13, 2009. Come out and support if you can. Info can be found here: Winter Salsa Carnival
January 2009
Calgary Salsa Congress
Michelle and Gil decided to travel last minute to Calgary to compete at the 2nd Calgary International Salsa Congress. Michelle sustained a hamstring injury after the Winter Salsa Carnvial Preliminaries and was unsure if she could train properly but she did her best. A total of 8 couples from Mid-Western Canada came to compete. Michelle and Gil, the only couple East of Manitoba, swept the competition and came in 1st place. Among the judges was ESPN World Salsa Champion Head Judge, Billy Fajardo, who gave praise to Michelle and Gil's performance that night.
Winter Salsa Carnival Preliminary Round
Michelle and Gil competed in the First round of the Winter Salsa Carnival. This was round where the music is not predetermined and competitors must do their best to freestyle. Michelle and Gil came in 3rd and have moved on to the Semi Finals happening in February.

San Francisco International Salsa Congress
Michelle and Gil traveled to San Francisco to participate in their first ever competition. There was a preliminary round that MnG passed and competed in the Final 6. They placed an impressive 4th place in one of the toughest competitions on the West Coast.

Canada Salsa Congress
The biggest Salsa event in Canada is here on Thanksgiving Day weekend. The 6th annual Canada Salsa Congress will be held in Toronto at the Sheraton Hotel from October 10-12. Pick up your official Congress t-shirts designed by Shokkwear before they sell out!

Salsa on St. Clair
Shokkwear was proud to help represent Steps Dance Studio at the Salsa on St. Clair festival. This is an annual event that promotes Latin Culture and Salsa music. Steps Dance Studio ran lessons every hour and the hottest booth on the street with non stop dancing, music and fun!

Frank Marques victorious in his 2nd MMA fight
Frank traveled to Akron, Ohio with Team Shokkwear and Team Kombat to compete in his 2nd MMA match. Frank completely dominated his opponent in under 1 minute using his infamous guillotine. Congrats Frank and congrats to the other members of Team Kombat who participated.
Shokkwear at iFreeStyle Christmas Party December 9, 2007
Shokkwear will be taking part in iFreeStyle's Christmas Party in December. There will be performances, giveaways, food and dancing all night.
iFreeStyle is the premier Latin Dance Company in Toronto and will be donating 10% of proceeds to the Fort York Food Bank

Frank fought his first MMA fight in Ohio and won by TKO in round 1. Congratulations on your victory Frank!

Congratulations to Frank Marques for winning the Silver Medal at the Pan American Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championships. Frank fought in a bracket of 64 fighters with competitors from the United States, Canada and Brazil.
