Where do you train now: The Kombat Arts Training Academy in Mississauga, Ontario and with BJ Penn in Hilo, Hawaii

Why I started training: The high school wrestling coach told me to go to a practice after seeing me working out and skipping in the school weight room. I went to 2 practices before my first rookie tournament which I won. I started wrestling at the MatMen wrestling club out of Kombat Arts to further develop my skills. While training, I noticed the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu grappling class and decided to try it out. To my surprise, I easily got tapped 3 times in 5 minutes or so by another student, Gil Mesina, who was smaller than me. I was very impressed and told myself that I had to learn this stuff.

Best experience:
Partially tore my PCL and MCL during a tournament. Even though I was in pain, I never gave up and ended up winning the tournament defeating 4 guys.

Worst experience: Anytime I can't train due to injury I feel depressed. However I use this time to focus on the mental aspects of my game.
